English সাহিত্যের বিখ্যাত Quotation (উক্তি) ও তাদের রচয়িতা/উৎস থেকে বিজেএসে নিয়মিত প্রশ্ন আসে—‘Who wrote/said this line?’ বা ‘From which work is this line taken?’। এর সঙ্গে ইংরেজি Proverb (প্রবাদ) ও তার বাংলা প্রতিরূপও গুরুত্বপূর্ণ।
প্রতিটি উক্তির সঙ্গে এর লেখক ও রচনা মনে রাখতে হয়। মূলত মুখস্থনির্ভর, তাই নিয়মিত রিভিশন ও উক্তি-লেখক-রচনা—এই ত্রয়ী একসঙ্গে মনে রাখাই মূল কৌশল।
